Safe Space Statement

Safe Space statement

Updated August 2019

MassDiGI is dedicated to providing a safe-space environment at all events: we want to create a space where all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race or religion are accepted and respected. Harassment is not tolerated.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments – related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion or otherwise – deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Parties asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

We value the attendance of every individual at MassDiGI, and want everyone to feel safe throughout the duration of our events. If you are being harassed, or notice that someone is participating in harassing behavior, please notify an organizer.

If someone engages in behavior that violates this policy, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate. If a resolution to the problem cannot be reached between all parties, actions will be taken to remove the party in question from the mailing list, and/or disallow entry to future events run by MassDiGI. In more serious cases, organizers can help facilitate communication with the appropriate authorities on a case-by-case basis.

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Any reports of harassment will be treated as anonymous and your name will not be included in any communication with the offending parties unless specifically requested.

Thank you for helping make MassDiGI a welcoming, friendly community for all.
